This past week was spent at a state park. It was a great time altogether, but I couldn't help thinking how wonderful it would have been to have some friends along that I don't see very much. It's amazing what a difference that makes! Even when there's an activity planned that you don't usually like, it's always more enjoyable with friends along. So next time you want to go off for a break, think about bringing a friend along. You won't regret it!

Gardening
Summer is here, and, for most people, that means that, if they have a garden, their tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and all the other mid-season harvest is close to ripe. For me, however, I'm excited over the tomato blossoms and baby cucumbers I have. Some people have more luck ( if I can use that word) than others in gardening, and I guess I'm just not destined to be one of the best. Maybe next year the harvest will be bumper!

Toads on the Roads
Whenever I see a toad, I always think back to the rainy nights when I would go out on the roads with my family and try to catch one. We would be driving slowly along, waiting with eager anticipation for that special moment when one of us would yell out "I see one!"and we would all scramble out of the car as fast as we could so it wouldn't get away.
It never ceases to amaze me how adventures with the family stay in a child's heart forever. You would tend to think they would appreciate a trip to Disney World more, but it truly doesn't matter where you are as long as you create an environment of adventure, excitement, and, most importantly, trust. So the next time you think you need to spend a fortune on someone else to make them happy, think again. Your answer could be right around the corner.

Sweet 16
The phrase "Sweet 16" is so common nowadays, especially when the 16th birthday comes around for the females who inhabit the earth. Most people think I'm so weird to consider this phrase to be a last choice and partially condescending on the recipient. I may be crazy to think this way, but on my side is the fact that I am an introvert. For the other likeminded individuals out there, be at peace. "Sweet 16" only appears on your life story once!
